The Climate Opportunity Fund

In May 2009 GreenStream announced the “Climate Opportunity Fund” (COF), which focuses on the acquisition of post-2012 carbon credits for compliance and financial gain for its investors.

  • Status: Third tranche closed in May 2011

The Fine Post-2012 Carbon Fund

In September 2009, GreenStream launched the “Fine Post-2012 Carbon Fund” (FPCF), its second investment vehicle acquiring carbon emission reductions generated in 2013-2020 for its investors.
 

  • Investment focus: Primary carbon credits; carbon credits generated in 2013-2020
  • Investors: Three energy companies
  • Status: Closed in September 2010
  • Further Information: Carbon credit return. No further tranches planned

 

 

The Nordic Carbon Fund

In March 2008 GreenStream launched the “Nordic Carbon Fund” (NCF). NCF is an investment vehicle purchasing carbon emissions reductions generated in 2008-2012 primarily from projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) for compliance and financial investors.
 

  • Investment focus: Primary carbon credits; carbon credits generated in 2008-2012 in CDM projects
  • Investors: One mutual pension insurance company, one asset management company and three energy companies
  • Status: Closed in March 2008

The Fine Carbon Fund

In May 2007 GreenStream launched the “Fine Carbon Fund” (FCF), which purchases carbon credits generated in 2008-2012 primarily from projects under the Clean Development Mechanism for its investors.
 

  • Investment focus: Primary carbon credits; carbon credits generated in 2008-2012 in CDM projects
  • Investors: Two listed industrial companies, six energy companies and one asset management company. The State of Finland and an energy company have co-purchasing agreements with FCF
  • Status: First tranche closed in June 2007, a further round of capitalisation among original investors implemented in May 2010
  • Further Information: Carbon credit return
