GreenStream’s 3,5-year program (2013-2016) “Development of Energy Efficiency Solution Business Concept for the Chinese Industrial Market” created concrete ESCO-business (energy service company) and market access models to China, in cooperation with Finnish SME technology providers. Beside the program manager’s role, GreenStream acted as an EMC-investor and launched concrete business projects in various energy intensive industries in China. The target industries in the program were pulp and paper, steel and chemical industries.

GreenStream strives to continuously create solutions that are responding to China’s increasing energy demand and ambitious energy saving targets, for which China seeks to leverage. As one of the company’s first initiatives in energy efficiency sector, GreenStream created a program that offers high quality and world class technologies for local energy efficiency projects.

GreenStream designed and managed the program “Development of Energy Efficiency Solution Business Concept for the Chinese Industrial Market” in which the participating companies gained concrete and in-depth knowledge about Chinese energy efficiency markets, and were introduced to potential Chinese subcontractors. The program also developed feasible cooperation models among Finnish SMEs.

The program was co-financed with the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, Tekes. The program was also supported by the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries and was one of the pilot projects of the Team Finland network.
